The recording is only 18 minutes of the presentation on the Wednesday night Summer Series less by Robert Rawson. In this delivery I sought to present the Bible , 2 Timothy 2:24-25, with its importance of not being a wrangling words person, strive, but rather speaking gentle to all, being apt to teach and patient and in meekness instruct those who oppose themselves. In doing this I sought to give a background of several people whom I have known that did amazing service due to ‘words of encouragement’. Words have the power of life and death , Proverbs 18:21, and we are urged to choose gentle words, soft, Proverbs 15:1. This is God’s will and we should choose a gentle way of life in order to really help others. The apt to teach part was illustrated with the use of Questions by Jesus , Matthew 21:23ff. Practicing turning statements into question form will take practice rather than ‘just doing’. It will never happen if we do not practice this way of gentle conversation by use of questions.
