The Prophets study is brief just now due to the inability to add to this website earlier in this week. Our apologies for the delay; but, we trust the wait is worth the effort as we now have the audio available for you regarding The Prophets as of Thursday evening, October 10th. The Prophets of the Old Testament may at first glance seem ‘out of date’ to you, the reader. However, the Scripture of Romans 15:4 teaching us the value of previous information written as well as Romans 12:1-3 teaching us to submit to the Lord’s Will as His Word directs is invaluable. 1 Peter 1:10-12 rewards our study as the Prophets are represented as teaching God’s Word completely.2 Peter 1:20-21 assures us of the credibility of God’s prophet and the Will of God being presented. Salvation for the believer (Romans 10:17) comes from hearing the Word of God and on the day of Pentecost the believers were commanded to repent and be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38) in the same form of words Jesus used in speaking of the Fruit of the Vine ‘shed for many for the remission of sins’ (Mt. 26:28). As we read this if the believers were already forgiven and did not need to be baptized, would not the remission of sins spoken of by Jesus have occured before his blood was shed ? Would you consider this please? …..
Each week, we will seek to add a summation of the Sunday sermon of the week delivered at the Crockett church. ……
Now, since I am thankfully able to add Sunday, October 13th Sermon, to the website from my present location, I am taking advantage of the opportunity early on Thursday night, Oct 10th. In this practice sermon as I prepare for Sunday, Lord willing, you will note the main points delivered. They are as mentioned in our study of last week as The Prophets set Acts 2:38 and Matthew 26:28 before your study. Explanation is given in this week’s sermon adding Matthew 26:52ff and Galatians 4:1-4 to the mixture seeking to show God’s Hope for the souls of mankind. Will you check out the point made in the place of the remission of sins of Mt. 26:28 and Ac. 2:38? As I understand it the writing of many Greek scholars support this idea in studies. Let me know of your findings, please. Won’t you ?….
As you can see, I have taken occasion to add the sermon planned for October 20th due to the fact I can add it to this website from my current location and , therefore, this will give me two weeks of time to try to get things in order back at the Crockett location. Knowing you enjoy these studies and will respond to me in your follow up studies is rewarding enough to me to make as sure as I can you have the audio in front of you. …..Now, the sermon of the 20th of October planned brings up the question “Why did God Use His Word as the plan to reach sinful mankind?” Revelation 4 is sighted as a passage showing us God’s good pleasure was involved in His will being taught. Again, in Matthew 7:21 the importance of hearing and doing God’s Will is described in Jesus’s illustration of the wise builer and the foolish builder. Further, the overall ideal of salvation is explained to be for those who obey Him in Hebrews 5:8-9 , does it not ? The conversion of Cornelius the first Gentile convert in Acts 10 and 11 shows the real purpose of Holy Spirit baptism as a promised sign to show nothing should be withheld from him and the command to be baptized in water was a command to be obeyed. Do you now see this ? Be in touch as to your take on these two chapters in Acts, please. ,,,,,,,,,
Our 4th Sunday of this October, 2013, sermon will relate to Parents and Children, Lord willing. Ephesians 6:1-4 teaches us to be obedient children as well as guiding parents. “Ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nourishment and admonition of the Lord.” “Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right and it may be well with you and you may live long upon the earth.” 1. Fathers need to lead the home 2. Children need to respond because it is right and in their better interest. 3. Our lifestyles need to please God. Hope you will enjoy the audio when it arrives on this website later this month.
……If the Lord wills and I am delivering sermons in November, 2013, my plan and practice sessions will bring some basic yet deep subjects to the Crockett congregation. On November 3rd, the topic is: Jesus Loves Us. Not only did God, the Father, so love the world (John 3:16), but Jesus, the Son, loved mankind and gave himself to purchase the church with his own blood (Acts 20:28; Ephesians 5:25). This was in the eternal purpose of God (Ephesians 3:10). A simple, basic plan yet a profound and deep subject…God’s Love for us. Every example of conversion in the book of Acts (2, 8, 9 & 22, 10, 16, 18, 19) record for us people who were very grateful to know the gospel of the Lord and be blessed thereby. Please read the accounts. Let me know of your understanding. Someday, life on earth will close for each of us, if the Lord tarries his returning, and it is appointed thereafter the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). Let us be prepared for that day.
